PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which is capable of processing the signals read out of an optical disk with optimum waveform equalization characteristics. SOLUTION: This optical disk device has a reading-out means (1) which reads the signal out of the optical disk, a detecting means (4) which detects prescribed characteristics from the signals read out of this reading-out means and waveform equalizing means (2, 3 and 5) which output the signal obtained by subjecting the read out signals to waveform equalization with the prescribed waveform equalization characteristics in accordance with the result of the detection by the detecting means.
