PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect thermal energy of an industrial furnace without causing the problem of a disabled state of generating electric power by destruction of a thermoelectric element. SOLUTION: In a resistance heating furnace 8, as the industrial furnace provided with a water-cooled jacket 7 via a cavity part 6 outside a heat- insulating material 3a covering a heating chamber 3, thermoelectric modules 9 are plastered on the inside wall surface of the water-cooled jacket 7, in such a way as not to contact the heat-insulating material 3a. The thermoelectric module 9 comprises a plurality of P-type thermoelectric elements 9a and N-type thermoelectric elements 9b, each being alternately arrayed. Respective end parts at high-temperature side and those of low-temperature side are connected to each other by electrodes 17 and 18, respectively. The electrode 17 or 18 at both ends is collected by an electricity-storing device 12 via a power collecting line 11.
