PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the level of a biphase signal so that from a resolver to a specific range. SOLUTION: When a square root P of the square sum of biphase signals V sin and Vcos outputted from the resolver becomes lower than a prescribed range, the duty of a rectangular signal for excitation signals outputted toward the resolver is increased (step S106). When the square root P of the square sum becomes larger than the prescribed range, the duty of the rectangular signal is decreased (step S108). Since the level of the biphase signals Vsin and Vcos is adjusted by the amplitude of a sinusoidal signal as an excitation signal inputted to the resolver, the level of the biphase signals Vsin and Vcos can be adjusted, by adjusting the amplitude of the sinusoidal signal as the excitation signal by increasing or decreasing the duty of the rectangular signal. As a result, the square root P of the square sum of the biphase signals Vsin and Vcos can be retained to be within a prescribed range for performing appropriate angle conversion.
