The lock (1) for a motor vehicle has a keeper formed as a handle (2) and a lock bolt (3) tilting around a first axis (4). A tilting lever (5) pivots around a second axis (6) parallel to the first. A selectively extensible link (7) allows decoupling between an actuator (8) and the rest of the lock assembly during locking of the lock.
