PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tweeter that can reproduce sounds with an ultrahigh sound frequency and a high efficiency even at a low cost and have excellent sound pressure frequency characteristics with less peak/dip levels and excellent directivity characteristics. SOLUTION: The tweeter has a piezoelectric element 1, a frame 2 supporting the element 1, and a diaphragm 3 whose planar shape has a major diameter and a minor diameter and that has a diaphragm 3 projected in a sound radiation direction. Both side ends of a circumferential part of the diaphragm 3 at least in a major diametrical direction are fitted to positions on a noncentral line on the surface of the piezoelectric element 1 and the minor diameter of the diaphragm is selected to be 40% or over of the minor diameter of a moving part of the piezoelectric element.
