The invention relates to a novel adsorbent material that can be employed in sorption processes such as sorption cooling and dehumidification processes. The adsorbent material of the present invention is cast into a flexible adsorent sheet having a uniform thickness and an asymmetric structure wherein one side of the flexible adsorbent sheet consists essentially of adsorbent and the other side of the flexible adsorbent sheet consists essentially of the polymer binder. One unexpected benefit of the adsorbent sheet of the present invention is that it can be readily disposed on smooth surfaces such as aluminum.
