The object of this invention is to provide a magnetic oil fence used for preventing the spread of oil or harmful liquids on the sea or fresh water in the case of unexpected drainage of oil or liquids from vessels or the shore. This oil fence is provided at each end thereof with a magnetic band having strong magnets. In order to use the magnetic oil fence, the oil fence is spread to fencean area on the sea or fresh water contaminated with oil or harmful liquids, and the magnetic bands of the fences ends are magnetically attached to desired portions of vessels or piers of the shore. It is thus possible to closely connect the ends of the oil fence to vessels or piers without leaving gaps between the fence and the vessels or piers, different from conventional oil fences connected to vessels or piers using ropes. |
