Normal recording even under a slight oscillation to which a circuit for sensing a servo error signal does not respond. A recording apparatus is provided with an optical head (12) for receiving reflected laser light (L REF) when laser light (L IRR) irradiates a CD-R (10), a gate circuit (31) supplied with an output signal (S RD) of the optical head (12), and a level comparing circuit (34) for comparing the value of an output signal (D TAU) of this gate circuit (31) with a predetermined reference value (D TH). During recording, the gate circuit (31) is controlled in synchronization with a signal to be recorded so as to fetch a signal of a predetermined period t as the output signal (D TAU) out of output signal (S RD) of the optical head (12) supplied to the gate circuit (31). An output signal (S CMP) of a level comparing circuit (34) is fetched as a sensing result of the oscillation of the CD R (10) or the optical head(12).
