Resistor comprises a resistance plate (2) coated with a resin insulating layer (3); and a metallic heat deviating plate (4) formed on the side of the resin insulating layer facing away from the resistance plate. The resistance plate is made from an electrical resistance alloy containing 42.0-48.0 wt.% nickel, 0.3-2.5 wt.% manganese, and copper, in which the total amount of copper, nickel and manganese is not less than 98 wt.% and the grain boundary of the alloy is etched in the form of a hollow chamber. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a resistor comprising etching the alloy of the resistance plate using an organic acid etching agent. Preferred Features: The resistance plate is 0.1 mm or more. The resin insulating layer is made from an epoxy resin with 71-95 wt.% inorganic filler and has a high heat conductivity. The metallic heat deviating plate is made from aluminum or copper.
