The arrangement includes a chamber with an ejection opening (2) and a pressure discharge unit which exerts a pressure on the liquid introduced into the liquid. The chamber opening is shaped to produce a surface wave on the liquid surface at the ejection opening. The chamber opening ejects droplets with a smaller diameter than the ejection opening. The plane cross-section of the chamber perpendicular to the ejection direction is round or a regular rectangle.
