The lateral transition from the bubble free applied strip to the tyre carcass is sealed by a self-vulcanising or hardening material layer and the adhesive or bonding layer is hardened or vulcanised in the usual manner in a heated pressure vessel. Pref. a polyester resin, PVC, polyisobutylene, polyvinyl alcohol, epoxy resin, latex or butyl rubber can be used as the self-vulcanising sealing material.
