The combination ratios at which the signals received by a plurality of antennas (A1-An) are combined are calculated by a plurality of algorithm sections (31-33), the SIR values of synthesis signals generated by combining the received signals at the calculated composite ratios (SIR calculating sections (41-43)), which of the algorithm sections calculates the synthesis signal having the highest quality is judged (judging section (44)), and the synthesis signal having the highest quality is selected as a received signal (selecting section (45)). Thus a received signal having the highest quality is selected from among the synthesis signals generated according to the different algorithms. Therefore even if the calculation of weight according to one algorithm is unstable or converged erroneously due to some cause, the synthesis signal according to the algorithm is not selected, and another synthesis signal is selected. The calculation of weight can thereby be continued stably, and erroneous convergence can be avoided.
