ADJUSTABLE PEDAL APPARATUS WITH DEFINED ADJUSTMENT PATH

An adjustable pedal apparatus includes a vehicle support and a pedal subassembly. The pedal subassembly includes an upper portion pivoted to the support, a lower pedal lever, and an adjustment device comprising an elongated track on the upper portion and a mating follower on the lower portion. The track is arcuate, which causes the pedal to adjust a virtual pivot such that the pedal pad is lowered upon adjustment toward a vehicle driver, but that causes the pedal to move farther than the follower. A row of teeth on the track are engaged by a cable-driven reversible worm gear for powered adjustment of the pedal location.
