Myo/V1 is a cardiac-associated protein which interacts with NF kappa B, a well known stress-responsive cytoprotective transcription factor. Myo/V1 is upregulated during cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. The present invention is directed to the function of Myo/V1 disruption of NF kappa B activity by promoting the formation of NF kappa B p50-p50 homodimers or p65-p65 homodimers, which results in altered adrenergic singlaing during these events.
