It is intended to provide a novel protein which is useful in, for example, screening an agonist/an antagonist. More particularly, a novel protein or its salt; a DNA encoding this protein; a method of determining a ligand to this protein; a method of screening a compound altering the binding properties of the ligand to the protein and a screening kit therefor; a compound obtained by this screening method or its salt; and the like. The above protein or the DNA encoding the same are usable in, for example: (1) determining a ligand to the above protein; (2) preventives and/or remedies for diseases in association with the hypofunciton of the protein; and (3) screening a compound (an agonist, an antagonist, etc.) altering the binding properties of the protein to the ligand.
