<p>A composition capable of indicating by color change when consumer articles, particularly volatile material dispensers, containing or associated with said composition have become inefficient in use, comprises: a) a volatile liquid component eg. perfume, b) a non-volatile component selected from group III or IV metal hydroxides or oxides, Silica, MgSi04, or anhydrous polymer gels as in us-A-5780527, c) a dye capable of changing color as a function of the medium in which it is incorporated eg. Rhodamine B, Crystal Violet Lactone, Malachite Green Lactone. Optionally, the composition can also contain an effective amount of an acidic compound. The application also concerns the consumer article containing said composition, in particular an air freshener.</p> |
