A pneumatic braking system (150) includes a latching exhaust valve (100) fluidly connected between a brake cylinder (154) and a reservoir (156). The exhaust valve includes a first solenoid (102) including a first pilot fluidly connected to the reservoir and a second solenoid (104) including a second pilot fluidly connected to the reservoir. The pilots are configured to be controlled electronically and the solenoids are configured to be piloted (204) with pneumatic pressure from the reservoir.
