<p>Disclosed is a wireless communication system including base stations and customer sites. Each of the base stations and customer sites has an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit has a modem for modulating/demodulating data transmitted between the base stations and customer sites. The outdoor unit is controlled based on control message from the indoor unit. The outdoor unit includes a local oscillator, which generates two frequency signals: a fixed frequency signal and a variable frequency signal. Both of the signals are phase locked to the data transmitted between the base stations and customer sites. The fixed frequency signal is used in composing the variable frequency signal. The outdoor unit receives a signal loading the data from the indoor unit and up-converts the frequency of the data-loading signal using the fixed and variable frequency signals before wireless transmission of the signal. Also, the outdoor unit down-converts the frequency of the data-loading signal which is wirelessly received using the fixed and variable frequency signals before transmission to the indoor unit.</p> |
