The propulsion sail (1) for a marine vessel (2) has a vertical axis rotor (4) having adjustable aerofoils (5) with a separate adjusting drive (8). The aerofoils are independently adjustable. The vanes are cyclically adjustable in dependence on the rotation of the rotor, with a cyclically adjustable operating force.
