TFF PEPTIDES

The present invention relates to novel trefoil factor (tff) peptides, in particular TFF2 peptides. The TFF2 peptides have a moiety covalently attached to Asn15. The moiety can for example be sugar residues or oligosaccharides. TFF2 (spasmolytic protein 1) contains two trefoil domains. Also included is a method for preparing the TFF2 peptides and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the TFF2 peptides. The TFF2 peptides are for increasing the viscosity of mucus layers in mammals and for the use in the treatement of conditions in mammals with damaged or abnormal mucus layres e.g. in the gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory passages, the eye and the urinary system.
