ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS FOR BACK-COATING DENTAL PLATE AND HARDENING COMPOSITIONS FOR DENTAL USE

Adhesive compositions for back-coating dental plate which comprise a halogen-free organic solvent such as ethyl acetate, ethyl formate or acetone, a polymer such as a methyl methacrylate-ethyl methacrylate copolymer, and a radical-polymerizable monomer such as tetramethylolmethane tetramethacrylate; and hardening compositions which comprise a radical-polymerizable monomer, an organic peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide, a tertiary amine compound such as diethyl-p-toluidine or dipropyl-p-toluidine and a hydroxycarboxylic acid such as malic acid or citric acid. The above adhesive compositions are free from halogen-containing organic solvent which is pointed out as being toxic, have sufficient adhesive properties and favorable handling properties, and never worsen the appearance when adhered to a dental place face other than the adhesion face. The above hardening compositions are widely usable in dental cements, composite resins, crown resins, back-coating for dental plate, etc. having little surface unpolymerized layer and showing favorable hardening properties.
