A device for arranging platy works (W) to the center of an auxiliary conveyor (30) vertically movably assembled in a main conveyor (20) when the works are transferred from the preceding process to the next process, the device comprising right and left arranging members (40, 40) moved back and forth the same distance at a time in a direction orthogonal to the main conveyor's conveying direction, drive motors (44, 44) for driving the respective arranging members, arranging sensors (51, 52) mounted at the inside D0 positions of the respective arranging members and detecting the side end faces of respective platy works, and a control means for receiving signals from the both sensors to drive-control respective drive motors and vertically move the auxiliary conveyor. When a distance (earlier detection distance) required for one of the right and left arranging sensors to move until detecting an end face is D1 and a distance (later detection distance) required for the other to move until detecting an end face is D2, the control means performs drive-control such that a farther moving distance after the later detection is set to D0/2 when |D1-D2|>/=D0 and to |2D0-(D1-D2)|/2 when |D1-D2|<D0.
