An image screen has its display formed out of several small image screen units (1,1',1'') which are arranged during operation of the image screen, adjacent to one another or in the form of a matrix in a common plane (EB). Lenses (4,4',4'') form a plane (EL) extending parallel to the plane (EL) of the image screen units, and which is arranged to the plane of the image screen units (1,1',1''), such that the display area (2,2',2'') lies fully within, and its edge zone (3,3',3'') lies fully outside the focal cone (5,5',5''), covering the focal point (F) of its associated lens (4,4',4''). In a virtual representation plane (EV) an image of the display zone (2) of the respective image screen unit, arises and which corresponds in dimensions to the edge lengths of the lens (4,4',4'') of the plane (EL).
