<p>A formate dehydrogenase having a high specific activity, a small Km value for formic acid and NAD, being stable over a broad temperature range and a broad pH range, having a broad functioning pH range and a broad functioning temperature range and being suitable for industrial use. A formate dehydrogenase-producing microorganism is searched for from soil to thereby provide the above enzyme having properties suitable for industrial use. Also, a DNA containing the gene of this enzyme, a recombinant DNA with a vector, and its transformant prepared by a plasmid are provided. Furthermore, a process for producing this formate dehydrogenase by using a strain belonging to the genus Ancylobacter or a transformant with the use of a formate dehydrogenase gene originating in this strain is provided.</p> |
