The circuit device has switches (K2) for each pair of antenna elements (1,2) connecting the latter to respective supply paths (A,B), with further switches (K0,K1) allowing both supply paths to receive in-phase antenna signals in one switch position and antenna signals with a phase offset in the second switch position. An independent claim for a switching method for an antenna of an automobile access control system is also included.
