Assembly line control system and method

In a control system as described in the parent application GB 2352838 A, each lot of like assemblies is given a manufacturing priority relative to other lots. Although assemblies in the lot may follow different paths depending on availability of processing stations and parts, defects and repairs to assemblies etc, they end up in substantially contiguous relationship at the end of the assembly line.
