This invention leads to the creation of an apparatus for the maintenance of semiautogenous grinding mills used in the great mining field. Specifically the invention deals with an apparatus for cold cutting nuts which has a mobile cutting tool and a fixed cutting tool, in which such apparatus is driven by means of a hydraulic force, it is structured by a frontal body, a rear body and a hydraulic cylindrical chamber positioned between both bodies. Furthermore, this tool can be incorporated to a control manipulation or remote station for its easy operation.
