PURPOSE: A seat belt for a vehicle is provided to facilitate the operation of the safety belt and to enhance the safety property for a driver or passengers by allowing a locking piece of the seat belt to be locked or released in an electrically operated way. CONSTITUTION: A seat belt comprises a locking piece(20), a buckle(10), a solenoid lever(13), a locking switch(11) and a release button. The locking piece(20) is fixed to the seat belt. The locking piece(20) enters or leaves the buckle(10). The locking piece(10) is locked or released by the solenoid lever(13) by means of on/off of a solenoid(20). The locking switch(11) causes the solenoid lever(13) to be locked in the locking piece(20) by turning on power supply to the solenoid(12) by the touching of the buckle(10). The release button causes the solenoid lever(13) to be released from the locking piece(20) by turning off power supply to the solenoid(12) by the action of pushing.
