PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing the objective cyclopropanecarboxylic ester in high yield by transesterification between a cyclopropanecarboxylic ester and a monohydroxy compound in the presence of an inexpensive and industrially readily available lithium compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing the objective cyclopropanecarboxylic ester of the general formula (4) comprises a transesterification between a cyclopropanecarboxylic ester of the general formula (1) and a monohydroxy compound of the general formula (2): R7OH in the presence of a lithium compound of the general formula (3): LiOR8.
