PURPOSE: The rear bumper of a vehicle is provided to reduce the weight of the vehicle body and to enhance the working efficiency of manufacturing the rear bumper by replacing an existing impact beam with a foam-resin formed portion to allow the formed portion to be mounted to a vehicle body frame. CONSTITUTION: A rear bumper comprises a facia(101), an energy absorber(110), a back panel and a mounting member(200). The facia(101) faces the outside at the rear of the vehicle. The energy absorber(110) is mounted inside the facia(101) and has a thickness portion extending integrally from the energy absorber(110) to the back panel, using foam resin. The mounting member(200) includes a body(201), flanges(202) and a plurality of mounting pins(204). The body(201) mounts the energy absorber(110) to the back panel and projects toward the energy absorber(110). The flanges(202) are formed at the upper and lower sides of the body(201) which will be abutted against the back panel. The mounting pins(204) are mounted in the flanges(202). A rear portion(114) of the energy absorber(110) defines an engaging space(117) at a position engaged with the mounting member(200) and corresponding to the body(201). A mounting hole is formed in the back panel at positions engaged with the mounting member(200) and corresponding to the mounting pins(201).
