Fixing frames for water and fireproof closure elements using an adhesive process

The system for fixing a frame (12) to a partition (10) e.g. for a fire- and water-resistant door or shutter uses successive sealing products: initially an inorganic heat-resistant sealant based on inorganic fibres and mineral oxides, such as Navycross M (RTM)and a covering of an elastic fire- and water-resistant structural sealant. The products are applied in continuous beads (15, 16) along the contacting surfaces of the frame and partition after optionally fastening the frame in place by a few spot welds.
