PURPOSE: A water pump is provided to prevent the wear of a bearing due to the concentrated application of a force by keeping the balance of the rotational force applied to a pulley and the cooling water pressure applied to an impeller. CONSTITUTION: A water pump includes a housing(21), a rotating shaft(22) formed in the housing, a pulley(24) formed on the end of the rotating shaft protruded onto the housing, and an impeller(23) formed on the end of the rotating shaft. A cooling water pressurizing unit(40) pressurizes a portion of the cooling water passing through the water pump toward a first line and delivers the water to a second line. A cooling water inlet(27) is formed in a portion of the housing to rotate the impeller with the pressure of the cooling water pressurized by the cooling water pressurizing unit. A water jet(29) received in the cooling water inlet strongly jets the cooling water to the impeller. Therefore, the pressure of the cooling water is applied to the impeller is kept in the balance with the force applied to the pulley.
