LEAKAGE DETECTION APPARATUS FOR SHUT-OFF VALVE

PURPOSE: A leakage detection apparatus for shut-off valve is provided to allow the apparatus to be repaired in a convenient and accurate manner without the need of separating the valve. CONSTITUTION: A shut-off valve includes an adjusting nut(4) for adjusting the degree of opening of a valve disk coupled to a rod of a diaphragm(1) having a handle(5) coupled to the outer surface of the diaphragm. The shut-off valve is installed to a fluid pipe for feeding fluid to or cutting off fluid feeding from a valve disk mounted at an end of a valve body(7) and interposed between first and second flanges(41,42). A leakage detection apparatus comprises a cylinder(39) having a piston rod(44) an end of which is coupled to the first flange, wherein the cylinder is incorporated into the first flange so as to push or pull the first flange to contact the valve disk; a solenoid(40) for controlling air supply to the cylinder; and a water container for collecting the air fed and discharged through a pipe arranged between first and second flanges, so as to detect leakage at the valve disk and adjusting the degree of opening of the valve disk through the use of the adjusting nut.
