<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which image distortion in a continuous scanning system, e.g. spiral system, is corrected with high quality while suppressing increase of memory capacity. SOLUTION: The image recorder performs first correction of distortion with the resolution of an input image and performs second correction of distortion with the resolution of a recording head. First correction of distortion is performed while setting the difference between writing angle and reading angle for the address space of a buffer memory BM equal to the inclination angle of the scanning line against the main scanning direction. Second correction of distortion is performed by outputting image data obtained by first correction of distortion, to a position shifted in the sub-scanning direction depending on the inclination angle by such an amount as the pixel constitution unit P is a minimum unit. More specifically, memory access is performed while shifting each partial section by the width of pixel D, and then each micro partial section obtained by subdividing the partial section is shifted by the width of the pixel constitution unit P thus outputting the gray scale value of each pixel D.</p> |
