PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a vinylester resin emulsion which has high viscosity and which is excellent in the water-resistant adhesion, heat-resistant adhesion, hot water-resistant adhesion, leaving stability, especially the stability at high temperatures, and transparency as well as film-formability when fabricating into a coating film. SOLUTION: The method for producing the emulsion is characterized in that a vinylester monomer is subjected to the emulsion polymerization using a vinyl alcohol polymer as a dispersant in the presence of a hydroxyl group- containing compound which is water-insoluble.
