PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface-treated phosphor for a color cathode ray tube satisfying various characteristics required as a fluorescent film for a color cathode ray tube, and in particular, exhibiting high adhesive (adhesion to a glass panel) and contributing to prevention of color mixing. SOLUTION: The surface-treated phosphor for a color cathode ray tube comprises a phosphor whose surface is coated with at least one inorganic treating agent selected among silicone dioxide, zinc silicate, zinc hydroxide, zinc oxide, aluminum silicate, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide and titanium oxide, and an organic treating agent containing 0.005-0.15 wt.% of a polyvinyl pyrrolidone.
