PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scum removing equipment capable of preventing supernatant water from being discharged more than required and steadily discharging the scum. SOLUTION: This equipment has scum raking sections 22, 24 which rake the scum afloat on a water surface and a scum box 28 which allows the scum raked by the raking sections 22, 24 to inflow into the box 28 and outflow it outside the equipment. A side of the box 28 which faces the sections 22, 24 is formed below a water level and an opposite side of the box 28 is formed above the water level. The equipment also has a float 34 elevatably communicated with the sections 22, 24 of the box 28 to prevent an inflow of the water into the box 28 and elevating means 36, 40 which depress the float 34 below the water level when the sections 22, 24 cross the box 28.
