PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a termite preventing structure for buildings and a building with the structure, by which the intrusion of termites through an under floor ventilating opening can be prevented. SOLUTION: A mesh sheet 3 is stretched over the under floor ventilating opening 2 formed on an outer peripheral foundation of the building A, the mesh sheet being made of a corrosion-resisting material resistant to the secretion of termites 13 and having a plurality of meshes (air holes) 15 with the dimension double or smaller of the maximum dimension H in the cross section of the termite's head 13a, wherein the outer peripheral foundation is a mat foundation 1. The mesh sheet 3 is attached to a grill 32 fitted in a manner free for opening and closing on the outdoor side of an under floor damper 31, which is provided on the under floor ventilating opening 2 in a manner free for opening and closing.
