METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOW OXYGEN Mn MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low oxygen metallic Mn material which has not been industrially available. SOLUTION: An Mn raw material is subjected to induction skull melting in an inert gas atmosphere to obtain an Mn material in which the content of oxygen is reduced to <=100 ppm. Further, it is preferable that acid cleaning is performed before the Mn raw material is subjected to the induction skull melting in order that the further reduction of oxygen can be attained.
