PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that although an ink cartridge is filled with a predetermined quantity of ink, an air layer is generated because a porous body is not impregnated sufficiently with ink to cause blur at the time of printing. SOLUTION: The method for evacuating an ink cartridge and then filling the ink cartridge with ink comprises a step for evacuating the ink cartridge together with a draw-out tank connected therewith, a step for sucking ink and filling the ink cartridge with ink, and a step for sucking a predetermined quantity of ink from the filled ink cartridge to the tank under vacuum state. |
