PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for fixing a reel leg, which is readily gripped, has an easy grip, is readily and surely gripped even if the position of the hand or the finger is shifted and has a ready operation. SOLUTION: This apparatus for fixing a reel leg is equipped with a reel leg placing face 22 for placing a reel fitting leg part formed on a seat main body 12 to which a fishing reel is fixed, a stationary hood 18 and a movable hood 16 opposingly arranged in the length direction of the reel leg placing face. The apparatus for fixing a reel leg has a finger rest area 36 which is made at the side face part of the seal main body 12 adjacent to the reel leg placing face 22 and with which the fingertip at the movable hood 16 side of the gripping hand is brought into contact when the seat main body together with the fitting leg part 6 held by a pair of the hoods 16 and 18 is gripped and operated. The finger rest area 36 has a curvature smaller than that of the outside face of the seat main body 12 positioned on the circumferential part.
