PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter mounting structure that helps one very easily mount a cutter simply by inserting the cutter. SOLUTION: A cutter mounting structure is comprised of a cutter B having an engagement groove 11 at the end, and a chuck C having an insertion opening 1f into which the end is to be inserted and driven by power. The chuck C incorporates a retaining mechanism S for removably retaining the cutter B. The retaining mechanism S has a locking member 5 movable in the direction crossing the direction of insertion of the cutter B from the insertion opening 1f, and an elastic means 6 urging in one direction of the directions of movement. The locking member 5 has a base portion 5a as a first engagement portion that can be engaged with the engagement groove 11 of the cutter B, and guide ways 5ax and 5ay for realizing engagement of the base portion 5a with the engagement groove 11, by contacting the end of the cutter B and inserting the cutter B from the insertion opening 1f. |
