PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic composition for spray use which gives a droplet of fine particle size when sprayed and has excellent hair-setting ability. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic composition for spray use contains 0.01 to 20% by weight of an amine oxide group-containing resin, wherein the weight- average molecular weight is 5,000 to 10,000 and the molecular weight distribution is at most 4.0, to the whole composition, and comprises the following component units and ratios: (a) A component unit having amine oxide group at a side chain of 20 to 60 mol%, (b) A component unit having a short-chain alkyl group having at most four carbon atoms but not amine oxide group of 40 to 80 mol%, and (c) A component unit other than the above units of 0 to 20 mol%. (Provided that the ratio of each component unit is to the total sum (100 mol%) of these component units).
