PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrogen storage material which has a large hydrogen storage capacity and high hydrogen storage-discharge reaction rates, whose initial activation is easy, and which has a long cycle life. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a hydrogen storage material, a titanium compound (the oxide, nitride or carbide of titanium) or carbon is added to metallic titanium so that the atomic concentration of the additional elements (oxygen, nitrogen or carbon) in the obtained hydrogen storage material is controlled in the range of 3 to 15%. Then, this is heated and melted. |
