PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a protection pipe of a bridge strand cable capable of connecting the protection pipe made of thermoplastic resin with a metallic trumpet pipe by ensuring sufficient sealing property. SOLUTION: A diameter expansion stepped part 13 in which a pipe end part on a small diameter side of the trumpet pipe 3 is inserted is provided at inner periphery on one end side of a main body 12 of the cylindrical socket 11 to seal between the trumpet pipe 3 and the socket 11 by an elastic sealing ring 14 mounted on the stepped part 13. An inner peripheral part made of thermoplastic resin forming the main body 12 of the socket 11 by embedding a coil 16 of a heating wire 16a in the vicinity of an inner peripheral face on the other end side of the main body 12 and heating the heating wire 16a and an outer peripheral part made of thermoplastic resin forming the protection pipe 1 are sealed by thermal fusion to prevent a leakage of grout, and grout is filled so as to prevent a cavity from occurring in a fixing part of the bridge strand cable 2.
