PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus for educational purpose which can be used as an educational instrument for the experiment carried out as one of the biological and environmental educations. SOLUTION: There is provided such a garbage treatment apparatus for the educational purpose that a fermentative treatment trough 1 using a microorganism is constituted from transparent materials, the state of fermentation can be observed at any time from outside without special handling, and the process of decomposing and volume lessening by the action of the microorganism and the process of change into compost can be easily observed for a long period and therefore the biological and environmental education can be efficiently fulfilled. The garbage treatment apparatus makes it possible to carry out with efficiency the education of the process of microorganismic fermentation and the usefulness of the product thereby, since the switchover between aerobic treatment and anaerobic treatment can be easily made in a single fermentative treatment trough by the installation of an entrance port for gaseous body and a gaseous treatment device to the fermentative treatment trough 1 using the microorganism.
