PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which an order of expendable parts can be issued or received with no miss by a simple operation. SOLUTION: A client printer incorporating a communication means or having a communication means connectable to the outside communicates with a receiving means installed in the printer and a maintenance service company of the printer using the communication means. Expendable parts of the printer are ordered by transmitting not the image information where the signal itself has a meaning but expendable parts information of the printer, e.g. a part code, number of parts, and the like, directly from printer. Since no image information is present on the transmitting side and receiving side on contrary to a facsimile, processing of orders of expendable parts is automated easily and an efficient and reliable expendable parts ordering system can be configured in which the time of troublesome ordering work required for the client can be shortened while enhancing the efficiency of order receiving work and reducing indirect expenses. |
