PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus having a plurality of imaging modes of different process line speed in which a good image is ensured regardless of the imaging mode. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for forming a latent image on an image carrier 5, visualizing the latent image through development and transferring that image onto a transfer material P is provided with a plurality of imaging modes of the same recording density and different process line speed. The imaging apparatus comprises means 6 for writing the latent image onto the image carrier 5 by exposing it with a laser beam and when the latent image is written by the writing means 6, exposing energy per pixel (product of stationary beam power and exposing time per pixel) is equalized for respective imaging modes. |
