PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus for surely performing a product guarantee by automatically counting the number of molding teeth of a long-sized endless toothed belt without depending upon a hand, and a method for counting the number of teeth. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the long-sized endless toothed belt detects a height of a tooth by a displacing amount to detect the presence or absence of one tooth, sets a limit of a deciding height and counts the presence or absence. The apparatus further starts counting from a mark attached to the moving belt, detects the mark again after one circulation, integrates the counted value during this period, and counts the number of teeth. This can simply deal with all sizes of the teeth by accurately detecting. The method for counting the number of the teeth comprises the steps of placing this apparatus in a molding process for molding by circulating the apparatus in a loop-like state between a pair of molds with teeth, and counting in line without needing another inspecting step. |
