PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accumulate a plurality of paper sheets having a relative low rigidity and different sizes in the aligned state and to substantially enhance an accumulation speed of the paper sheets in a delivery accumulation mechanism for paper sheets. SOLUTION: Since the delivery accumulation mechanism 23 provided on an optical letter reading out device 1 detects a rear end of a document 24 conveyed before the document 24 is delivered to a stacker 20 and controls a timing of an action of a slide-contact lever 25 slide-contacted with a surface (upper surface) of the rear end part of the document delivered to the stacker 20 and imparting a load based on a detection result of the rear end of the document 24, an adjustment of an accumulation position of the document 24 in the stacker 20 becomes possible. Thereby, even if the documents objects to be accumulated has a different size each other, the documents 24 can be accumulated in the state that the rear end parts are aligned in the stacker 20.
